Stone Golem

A cycle of poems «I Trust Tempered Steel»

Sunrise paints the valley gold, another day begins
But I stand silent, stark and cold, where nature’s beauty wins
I feel the wind upon my face, a whisper in the stone
Forever bound to this same place, forever all alone

I am the Golem, carved in stone, a guardian of old
My heart, a mountain, overthrown, a story to be told
I watch the empires rise and fall, the seasons come and go
A silent witness to it all, a lonely, stony show.

The moss creeps slowly up my sides, a tapestry of green
The river flows, the water glides, a world I’ve always seen
I remember hands that shaped my form, a magic in the air
To weather every raging storm, and stand against despair

I am the Golem, carved in stone, a guardian of old
My heart, a mountain, overthrown, a story to be told
I watch the empires rise and fall, the seasons come and go
A silent witness to it all, a lonely, stony show.

Sometimes I dream of breaking free, of walking on the land
Of feeling true humanity, and lending them a hand
But duty binds me to this place, a promise I must keep
To guard against a darker grace, while weary travelers sleep.

The lightning cracks, the thunder roars, a storm begins to brew
I feel the power in my cores, the strength that sees me through
I stand unyielding, strong and tall, against the wind and rain
A sentinel to answer all, and break the wicked chain.

I am the Golem, carved in stone, a guardian of old
My heart, a mountain, overthrown, a story to be told
I watch the empires rise and fall, the seasons come and go
A silent witness to it all, a lonely, stony show.

As twilight falls, the stars ignite, I stand beneath the sky
A lonely figure in the night, until the days drift by
The stone endures, the legend lives, a whispered, ancient plea
The Golem watches, and he gives, his silent loyalty.
