I Trust Tempered Steel

A cycle of poems «I Trust Tempered Steel»

The world is cold, a biting wind,
Rust gnaws at what's left within.
Promises crumble, like grains of sand,
Lost in a world I don't understand.
But in the darkness, a glimmer bright,
A strength I find, a guiding light.

I trust tempered steel, strong and true,
Forged in fire, broke through.
It doesn't bend, it doesn't break,
Forged in hardship, for goodness sake.
I trust tempered steel, its unwavering grace,
A solid foundation, in this forsaken place.

I've seen the silver tarnish and fade,
And golden words, betrayal laid.
The gentle touch can be a cruel disguise,
Leaving only wounds behind deceitful lies.
So I turn my back on fleeting dreams,
And cling to something that truly gleams.

I trust tempered steel, strong and true,
Forged in fire, broke through.
It doesn't bend, it doesn't break,
Forged in hardship, for goodness sake.
I trust tempered steel, its unwavering grace,
A solid foundation, in this forsaken place.

Some may call it cold, some may call it hard,
But it's a heart that's been deeply scarred.
And in the heat of battle, when the pressure's on,
Tempered steel will stand, when all else is gone.

I trust tempered steel, strong and true,
Forged in fire, broke through.
It doesn't bend, it doesn't break,
Forged in hardship, for goodness sake.
I trust tempered steel, its unwavering grace,
A solid foundation, in this forsaken place.

Tempered steel, my guiding star,
Taking me where I need to be, however far.
Tempered steel, forever near,
Chasing away all my doubt and fear.
I trust tempered steel.
