You Are First to Fall

A cycle of poems «I Trust Tempered Steel»

In the silence of the night, shadows start to creep,
A warrior stands alone, but the promise runs deep.
With a heart full of courage, and a fire in his soul,
He knows the weight of duty, he plays his fateful role.

You are first to fall, when the battle calls,
A beacon in the darkness, standing proud and tall.
With every breath you take, and every scar you bear,
You fight for those who follow, you show them that you care.

Through the echoes of the past, he hears the battle cries,
For every friend he’s lost, there’s a fire in his eyes.
He charges through the tempest, with honor as his guide,
In the face of all the danger, he’ll never run or hide.

You are first to fall, when the battle calls,
A beacon in the darkness, standing proud and tall.
With every breath you take, and every scar you bear,
You fight for those who follow, you show them that you care.

And if the night consumes him, if fate should take its toll,
His spirit will keep fighting, his legacy is whole.
For every life he’s saved, for every tear he’s shed,
He knows that in their hearts, his courage will be fed.

You are first to fall, when the battle calls,
A beacon in the darkness, standing proud and tall.
With every breath you take, and every scar you bear,
You fight for those who follow, you show them that you care.

So raise your sword high, let your spirit ignite,
For in the heart of a warrior, there’s always a light.
Though you may be first to fall, your legacy stands tall,
In the hearts of those who love you, you will never truly fall.
