When Angels Weep
The sky bleeds grey, a canvas torn apart
Another promise broken, right from the very start
The wind sighs low, a mournful, hollow sound
As shattered dreams like autumn leaves, are scattered on the ground
When angels weep, the rain falls heavy now
A silver curtain hides the sorrow on their brow
When angels weep, the world feels cold and bare
And hope, a fragile butterfly, caught in despair's snare
They watched us stumble, watched us lose our way
Blind ambition leading us further astray
They offered guidance, whispered in the breeze
But we ignored the warning, deafened by our disease
When angels weep, the rain falls heavy now
A silver curtain hides the sorrow on their brow
When angels weep, the world feels cold and bare
And hope, a fragile butterfly, caught in despair's snare
A single tear, a diamond in the night
Reflects the darkness, stealing all the light
They feel our pain, they share our silent plea
To find redemption, and finally break free
When angels weep, the rain falls heavy now
A silver curtain hides the sorrow on their brow
When angels weep, the world feels cold and bare
And hope, a fragile butterfly, caught in despair's snare
So let the rain fall, wash away the stain
Of selfish choices, etched in grief and pain
Perhaps tomorrow, when the storm has passed
The sun will shine, and healing will be cast
And angels, maybe then, will weep no more at last.
