Today I dreamed in kitchen on the shelves

Today I dreamed: in kitchen on the shelves
Were sleeping many pythons - all were curled up,
Diameter of a log - so huge snakes
And in the net - a big lizard hung caught up.

And I was scared, but we fell asleep,
Were sleeping calmly. God is hinting me,
That I need to be serious - devil slips -
I must observe this fast now - Lent indeed.

And I recall - right after my baptism
The same snake - it was very-very huge
Swayed in front of my face and gaped, showed teeth,
And tried to gobble me up, but yet he couldn't.

John wrote that rarely he dreamed of worms,
When he - it happened rarely - broke the fast.
And to me - even pythons, well, that goes
For fermented baked milk, muffin and sprats.

Сегодня приснилось, что в кухне на полках
спит свёрнуто - много питонов,
огромные змеи - диаметр как брёвна,
И в сетку - варан висел пойман.

И мне было страшно, но все мы уснули
Спокойно. Мне Бог намекает,
Что надо серьезно - хоть дьявол подсунет -
Пост этот сейчас соблюдать мне.

Я вспомнила, что сразу после крещенья
Такой же змей - очень огромный
Пред мною качался и пасть разивая,
Пытался сожрать, но не смог он.

Писал Иоанн, что ему снились черви,
Когда нарушал пост он редко.
А мне - аж питоны, ну это наверно
За ряженку, кильку и кексик.
