Love to frets

Duet written with Benjamin Anderson

I lead the life of expectations,
The calendar was my domain
Beach, mountains and ruins ancient
Were tamed and captured by its veil.
The seasons spun, elusive to remember
The faces, concerts, trips - all blurred
Until the “spicy peppers” of November
Unleashed the happiness that was deferred.

Our love has gone to frets -
Weaving lyrics into threads,
Chords dissolving all regrets,
Stitching heart, cross picking strings
So that one day it may sing.

I was searching for a partner,
A friend of which to lead an ear.
The bond became much more,
Though the feelings weren’t so clear.
My path had started turning,
Young people needed help
And though I tried hard to hold on,
I would feel so overwhelmed.

Guess things can change sometimes…
Loved ones be destined friends -
Just because it changed us
Does not mean it has to end.

Our love has gone to frets -
Weaving lyrics into threads,
Chords dissolving all regrets,
Stitching heart, cross picking strings,
So that one day it may sing.
