Don t Call Me Anymore

A cycle of poems «Burn My Poems!»

It started with the laughter, echoes in the night,
But now your voice just lingers, it’s never feeling right.
Thought we had forever, but forever didn’t stay,
Now I’m changing all the locks, I’m keeping you away.

So don’t call me anymore, I’m closing up the door,
The memories are fading, can’t take this anymore.
I’m erasing all the steps, you won't find me on this floor,
I’m reclaiming my heart, so don’t call me anymore.

You painted pretty pictures, but the colors turned to gray,
Left me with the shadows, won’t let them have their say.
I’m putting down the phone, I’m cutting all the ties,
No more playing games, no more lonely goodbyes.

So don’t call me anymore, I’m closing up the door,
The memories are fading, can’t take this anymore.
I’m erasing all the steps, you won't find me on this floor,
I’m reclaiming my heart, so don’t call me anymore.

You said you’d never wander, but we both know the truth,
Promises like whispers vanished with the proof.
I’m building up my armor, I’m breaking through the storm,
No more tears to follow, no more nights to mourn.

So don’t call me anymore, I’m closing up the door,
The memories are fading, can’t take this anymore.
I’m erasing all the steps, you won't find me on this floor,
I’m reclaiming my heart, so don’t call me anymore.

The silence is my freedom, in this space, I’ll be whole,
No more echoes of your voice, I’m finding my own soul.
So don’t call me anymore, I’m finally set to soar,
With every step I take, I’m learning to ignore.
Don’t call me anymore, don’t call me anymore.
