Quite a Long Kiss

A cycle of poems «And What If There is No Love?»

Streetlights shimmered, gold and dim
The air was sweet, a summer hymn
Your hand in mine, a gentle squeeze
A silent promise, whispered pleas

And then you leaned in, eyes so bright
A slow descent into the night
A kiss that lingered, soft and deep
A secret language, secrets to keep
A quite a long kiss, a timeless art
A melody that stole my heart

The world faded, a distant hum
Just you and me, beneath the moon
Time stood still, a perfect pause
In the embrace of nature's laws

And then you leaned in, eyes so bright
A slow descent into the night
A kiss that lingered, soft and deep
A secret language, secrets to keep
A quite a long kiss, a timeless art
A melody that stole my heart

Each breath we shared, a whispered word
A feeling stronger, never heard
A touch so tender, a loving plea
A moment captured, eternally

And then you leaned in, eyes so bright
A slow descent into the night
A kiss that lingered, soft and deep
A secret language, secrets to keep
A quite a long kiss, a timeless art
A melody that stole my heart

A quite a long kiss, a memory made
A love unspoken, unafraid
A quite a long kiss, forever near
A whispered promise, held so dear.
