Fleeting Joy or Eternal Love?

I do not believe in love that’s endless,
What comes and goes is merely passion’s spell,
Who knows how short this life is,
And how swiftly joy in dreams can dwell.

Life, come forth,
Surprise me today.
What lingers on my mind -
Bring it forth and lay it out this way.

Be that love we've never fully lived,
Weave all the dawn's bright rays through our days.
Will each new morn remain here now?
Will it not slip through my fingers?

Shall my heart connect with yours - so near?
Let time flow like water through fingers,
I seek in your eyes a light that lingers.
In every gaze, in every breath we share -
Let’s hide from the void that waits out there.

Right now, in a moment, gaze into me,
Let our passion kindle a fire so bold,
Burning fiercely, never dimming, never cold.
What we’ve created, let it remain alive,
Here, in this world, do not let me forget -
In love, together, let us thrive.
