Broken Heart

A cycle of poems «Your Lipstick's on My Shirt»

The rain falls outside, mirroring the tears I cry
Another sleepless night, beneath a hollow sky
The echoes of your laughter, haunt the empty rooms
A melody of memories, blooming into blooms
Of pain, of sorrow, a bittersweet refrain
A shattered heart, piecing together in the pouring rain

Broken heart, a jigsaw puzzle, pieces scattered wide
Trying to find the edges, where our love once resided
The glue is gone, the picture faded, a fragile frame
A love we built so strongly, now consumed by flame
Broken heart, beating faintly, a rhythm slow and deep
Wishing for the sunrise, but only darkness I keep

Your promises whispered, like wind through willow trees
Now just a faded whisper, carried on the breeze
I search for answers, in the lines of your goodbye
But find only questions, reflected in my eye
The future we envisioned, a garden bright and bold
Now withered and forgotten, a story left untold

Broken heart, a jigsaw puzzle, pieces scattered wide
Trying to find the edges, where our love once resided
The glue is gone, the picture faded, a fragile frame
A love we built so strongly, now consumed by flame
Broken heart, beating faintly, a rhythm slow and deep
Wishing for the sunrise, but only darkness I keep

But even in the darkness, a flicker starts to grow
A spark of hope remaining, a seed that wants to sow
A future free from shadows, a heart that learns to mend
To rise above the wreckage, and find a brand new friend

Broken heart, a jigsaw puzzle, pieces scattered wide
Trying to find the edges, where our love once resided
The glue is gone, the picture faded, a fragile frame
A love we built so strongly, now consumed by flame
Broken heart, beating faintly, a rhythm slow and deep
But I'll find the sunrise, and let the darkness sleep

Broken heart, healing slowly, a brand new day will come
The sun will rise again, and I'll learn to overcome.
The sun will rise again.
