Russian Soldier

A cycle of poems «Mother Russia Is Calling!»

From fields of wheat to frozen ground
A soldier's life, a weary sound
He wears the green, a heavy load
A mother's prayers, a father's code
His eyes have seen the winter's bite
The endless nights, the fading light
A young man's dreams, now put aside
For duty's call, so enemies can't hide

Russian soldier, heart of steel
His story told, his wounds conceal
He fights for land, for motherland
A simple soul, a helping hand
Through bitter frost and raging fire
He holds his ground, his spirit higher
A silent strength, a whispered prayer
A Russian soldier, beyond compare

The birch trees weep, the wind it sighs
He hears the whispers, in his tired eyes
Of comrades lost, in fields of red
The memories haunt, the words unsaid
He clutches tight a faded photo
A love he holds, a life he's owed
A distant hope, a fragile dream
A Russian soldier, it would seem

Russian soldier, heart of steel
His story told, his wounds conceal
He fights for land, for motherland
A simple soul, a helping hand
Through bitter frost and raging fire
He holds his ground, his spirit higher
A silent strength, a whispered prayer
A Russian soldier, beyond compare

No glory sought, no medals won
Just duty done, 'til setting sun
He longs for peace, a gentle hand
To heal the scars across the land

Russian soldier, heart of steel
His story told, his wounds conceal
He fights for land, for motherland
A simple soul, a helping hand
Through bitter frost and raging fire
He holds his ground, his spirit higher
A silent strength, a whispered prayer
A Russian soldier, beyond compare

A Russian soldier, fading light
A weary soul, in the fading night
But in his heart, a flicker bright
A Russian soldier, holding tight.
