Eyes in fire
A flame ignites with fiery spells.
Yet, within its glowing embrace,
Lies a fear that time cannot erase.
For those who gaze upon its light,
Find themselves lost in fright.
Their green eyes, once filled with wonder,
Now tremble at each flickering thunder.
The fire dances, wild and free,
Its warmth enticing like a key.
But oh, how it consumes their sight,
Leaving them blind in its blinding light.
The crackling sound, so sweet and clear,
Hides danger lurking near.
The smoke rises, thick and gray,
Choking life away, night after night.
Yet still they come, drawn by its charm,
To dance with shadows, arm in arm.
But as they step closer, hearts pounding,
They realize the cost, too great to be found.
For in this dance with flames so bright,
Lies a love that burns out of sight.
The green eyes, once filled with delight,
Now haunted by the fire's might.
So let them learn from this tale,
Of beauty's price, when it turns frail.
For though the fire may seem divine,
It leaves behind a trail of pain.
And as the night grows dark and deep,
Let us remember those who weep.
For in the end, it's not the fire,
But what it takes from us, that we desire.
