Aortic Rupture

A cycle of poems «Trauma Life Support»

A whisper in the chest, a sudden, sharpest pain
A tearing, ripping sound, a body racked in strain
The pressure builds, a thunder in the core
The aortic wall, it gives, and can withstand no more

Aortic rupture, a silent, deadly foe
A ticking time bomb, a river starts to flow
Blood spills within, a crimson, chilling tide
Life's precious thread, so quickly cast aside

The pulse goes faint, the skin grows pale and cold
A chilling sweat, a story to be told
The heart it races, desperate, out of time
A frantic fight for breath, a struggle sublime

Aortic rupture, a silent, deadly foe
A ticking time bomb, a river starts to flow
Blood spills within, a crimson, chilling tide
Life's precious thread, so quickly cast aside

The doctors rush, the sirens fill the night
A battle for survival, with all their might
But time is fleeting, precious moments slip away
A fragile hope remains, in this desperate fray

Aortic rupture, a silent, deadly foe
A ticking time bomb, a river starts to flow
Blood spills within, a crimson, chilling tide
Life's precious thread, so quickly cast aside

A life cut short, a family's tearful plea
A silent tragedy, for all the world to see
Aortic rupture, a lesson to be learned
A fragile vessel, a heart that's fiercely burned.
