Shock Syndromes

A cycle of poems «Trauma Life Support»

The heart it stumbles, a rhythm gone astray
A sudden silence, where life used to play
The body's fortress, breached by unseen foes
A cascade of chaos, where the blood rarely flows
Shock syndromes calling, a whisper in the night
A battle for survival, bathed in fading light

The system's failing, a fragile, broken line
Fighting for homeostasis, a desperate design
Blood pressure plummeting, a chilling, cold embrace
Oxygen starvation, leaving no trace
A rush of adrenaline, a primal, frantic plea
Will the body conquer, or will it finally decree?

The organs faltering, a symphony of pain
The skin turns clammy, a chilling, icy rain
Confusion sets in, a fog within the mind
The senses dulled, leaving reason behind
Sepsis creeping, a threat both swift and sly
Infection's shadow, reaching for the sky

The system's failing, a fragile, broken line
Fighting for homeostasis, a desperate design
Blood pressure plummeting, a chilling, cold embrace
Oxygen starvation, leaving no trace
A rush of adrenaline, a primal, frantic plea
Will the body conquer, or will it finally decree?

Doctors rushing, a team in hurried stride
Machines beeping, a battle they must ride
Medications flowing, a lifeline in the dark
Hoping for a spark, to rekindle the heart's bark

The system's failing, a fragile, broken line
Fighting for homeostasis, a desperate design
Blood pressure plummeting, a chilling, cold embrace
Oxygen starvation, leaving no trace
A rush of adrenaline, a primal, frantic plea
Will the body conquer, or will it finally decree?

Shock syndromes linger, a shadow in the room
A fight for survival, bathed in fading gloom
But hope remains a flicker, a beacon in the night
For life's resilience, shines with all its might.
