Penetrating Trauma

A cycle of poems «Trauma Life Support»

The shards of glass, embedded deep
A memory's echo, secrets I keep
A whisper of pain, a chilling refrain
Penetrating trauma, a relentless stain

The walls I built, crumble and fall
The fortress I guarded, starts to recall
The fractured fragments, the jagged edge
Penetrating trauma, a painful pledge

The shadows lengthen, the darkness descends
A chilling reminder, that never ends
The body remembers, the mind tries to flee
But the wounds run deeper, than what I can see

The walls I built, crumble and fall
The fortress I guarded, starts to recall
The fractured fragments, the jagged edge
Penetrating trauma, a painful pledge

Can I ever heal, can I ever mend?
The scars that remain, will they ever transcend?
The whispers of fear, the constant dread
Penetrating trauma, inside my head

The walls I built, crumble and fall
The fortress I guarded, starts to recall
The fractured fragments, the jagged edge
Penetrating trauma, a painful pledge

But even in darkness, a flicker of light
A chance to rebuild, to face the night
To heal and to grow, to rise from the fall
Penetrating trauma, I'll overcome it all.
