Would any Russian want a war?
You ask the silence for this lore
Above the vast of plowed fields
The answer lies in battlefields.
Those soldiers buried under ground
Could shed some light on this account.
And ask their sons of sacred lore
If any Russian wants a war.
Not only for their native land
The soldiers perished by command,
They died that people of the Earth
Can sleep in peace without dearth.
No sound bothers the careless
Sweet dreams, New York, sweet dreams, Paris.
And let your dreams give answer for
If any Russian wants a war.
And we indeed know how to fight,
But we don’t want again this fright.
No men should ever fall in battle
On wasted land like slaughtered cattle.
Just ask the mothers, ask the wives
If we don’t care for the lives.
And then please understand this lore
If any Russian wants a war.
