Pseudarthrosis

A cycle of poems «Pediatric Orthopedics»

A fractured bone, a healing slow,
The gap remains, a stubborn foe.
The callus fails, the ends won't meet,
Pseudarthrosis whispers, bitter and sweet.
A phantom pain, a lingering ache,
The body's fight, a fragile break.
The surgeon's skill, a hopeful plea,
To mend the break, set the spirit free.

Pseudarthrosis, a bone's lament,
A silent struggle, time misspent.
The bridge is broken, the pathway lost,
Hope lingers still, at any cost.
Bone graft and wires, a surgeon's art,
To mend the fracture, restart the heart.

The X-ray shows, a stark display,
The gap persists, another day.
The patient waits, with weary sigh,
For healing's touch, beneath the sky.
The physical strain, the mental fight,
To walk again, reclaim the light.
Each step a challenge, each move a test,
To conquer weakness, and put fears to rest.

Pseudarthrosis, a bone's lament,
A silent struggle, time misspent.
The bridge is broken, the pathway lost,
Hope lingers still, at any cost.
Bone graft and wires, a surgeon's art,
To mend the fracture, restart the heart.

But healing's journey, is never done,
Resilience flourishes, like the rising sun.
With therapy's touch, and will so strong,
The body heals, where it's gone wrong.
The pain may linger, a memory's trace,
But strength emerges, at its own pace.

Pseudarthrosis, a bone's lament,
A silent struggle, time misspent.
The bridge is broken, the pathway lost,
Hope lingers still, at any cost.
Bone graft and wires, a surgeon's art,
To mend the fracture, restart the heart.

Though pseudarthrosis, a challenge may pose,
The human spirit, forever grows.
With hope and strength, and healing's grace,
A healthier future, finds its place.
A stronger body, a mended soul,
Pseudarthrosis conquered, takes its toll.
