Paralysed Knee
Woke up this mornin', felt a chill down my spine
Couldn't bend my knee, it just wouldn't align
A sudden sharp pain, like a bolt out of blue
My leg felt like lead, nothin' I could do
Paralysed knee, a captive in my frame
My mobility stolen, whispered my name
The world keeps on movin', a blur in my sight
While I'm stuck in this moment, bathed in fading light
Doctors and tests, a confusing array
MRI scans whisperin', 'Something's gone astray'
Nerves or ligaments, a puzzle to solve
The uncertainty lingers, like a restless resolve
Paralysed knee, a captive in my frame
My mobility stolen, whispered my name
The world keeps on movin', a blur in my sight
While I'm stuck in this moment, bathed in fading light
Frustration builds, a silent, bitter cry
The simple things lost, beneath a cloudy sky
Walking the dog, dancin' in the rain
Now just a memory, a whisper of pain
Paralysed knee, a captive in my frame
My mobility stolen, whispered my name
The world keeps on movin', a blur in my sight
While I'm stuck in this moment, bathed in fading light
But hope still flickers, a tiny, bright flame
Physical therapy, a familiar refrain
One day I'll walk again, stand tall and be free
My paralysed knee, will finally set me free.
