Retirement Age

A cycle of poems «Is This Your American Dream?»

Years have flown, so fast it seems,
Now I've reached my retirement's beams.
A lifetime spent in toil and strife,
But now it's time to leave the grind of life.

Retirement age, a welcome break,
A chance to rest and thoughts awake.
No more alarms, no more daily chase,
Just time to embrace a gentler pace.

With newfound freedom, I'll embark,
On adventures that ignite my spark.
Travel to places I've longed to see,
And pursue hobbies that set me free.

I'll spend more time with loved ones dear,
Create memories that will forever persevere.
Grandchildren's laughter, a precious gift,
Moments to cherish, every hour I lift.

Retirement age, a welcome break,
A chance to rest and thoughts awake.
No more alarms, no more daily chase,
Just time to embrace a gentler pace.

Some may say I'm now over the hill,
But wisdom's gained, and spirits still.
I'll use my experience to guide and inspire,
Mentor young minds, and nurture the fire.

Through gardening and art, I'll find my bliss,
Exploring new passions, a joyful tryst.
Exercise my body, keep my mind sharp,
For in retirement, there's still a spark.

Retirement age, a welcome break,
A chance to rest and thoughts awake.
No more alarms, no more daily chase,
Just time to embrace a gentler pace.

So here's to retirement, a new chapter unfolds,
A time for dreams to be realized, stories told.
With grateful hearts, we bid farewell to the grind,
Embracing freedom, leaving our mark behind.
