Police Brutality

A cycle of poems «Is This Your American Dream?»

In the streets where justice should reside,
A sinister force, fueling genocide.
Police brutality, a twisted game,
Where lives are stolen, forever scarred and maimed.

Oh, the cries for help, they pierce the night,
As officers wield their power with might.
Hands raised in surrender, pleas ignored,
A symphony of pain, a broken accord.

Underneath the blue, a dark abyss,
Where racism and bias intertwine and persist.
Minorities targeted, without cause or rhyme,
Victims of a system that's both cruel and inhumane.

Oh, the cries for help, they pierce the night,
As officers wield their power with might.
Hands raised in surrender, pleas ignored,
A symphony of pain, a broken accord.

Kneeling on necks, crushing human worth,
Leaving behind broken hearts and torn-apart.
Tasers and batons, weapons of oppression,
Shattering dreams, causing untold depression.

The weight of history, a heavy burden to bear,
As centuries of oppression continue to rear.
From slavery's chains to racial profiling's sting,
The wounds of the past still fester and sting.

Oh, the cries for help, they pierce the night,
As officers wield their power with might.
Hands raised in surrender, pleas ignored,
A symphony of pain, a broken accord.

Let us rise together, break the chains,
Demand accountability, end these endless pains.
Reform the system, bridge the societal divide,
And create a world where justice truly resides.
