Crisis of Morality

A cycle of poems «Is This Your American Dream?»

In the twilight's embrace, where shadows dance,
A moral crisis unfolds, a twisted trance.
Society's compass, once true and clear,
Now falters, lost in a realm of fear.

Oh, the crisis of morality, a haunting blight,
As values crumble, darkness takes its flight.
Integrity wanes, replaced by deceit,
A world devoid of virtue, bitter and sweet.

Honesty is a relic, whispered in vain,
As falsehoods prosper, truth is wrapped in pain.
Promises are broken, like fragile strings,
Leaving hearts shattered, lost in broken wings.

Justice falters, blinded by bias and greed,
The innocent suffer, while the guilty succeed.
Manipulation reigns, a venomous art,
Twisting the truth, tearing the world apart.

Oh, the crisis of morality, a haunting plight,
As values crumble, darkness takes its flight.
Integrity wanes, replaced by deceit,
A world devoid of virtue, bitter and sweet.

Once cherished principles, now scorned and defied,
Selfishness triumphs, pushing virtue aside.
Empathy withers, replaced by indifference,
A society consumed by endless negligence.

In the depths of despair, a glimmer of hope,
Voices rise, challenging the moral slope.
A yearning for truth, a longing for grace,
A call for a rebirth, a brighter embrace.

Oh, the crisis of morality, a haunting plight,
But hope remains, a beacon in the night.
Through unity and compassion, we must strive,
To reclaim our values, to make morality thrive.

In the journey ahead, let us hold fast,
To the principles that will forever last.
Integrity, honesty, and kindness true,
To guide us through darkness, to make our world anew.
