Starvation

A cycle of poems «Is This Your American Dream?»

In shadows cast, where hunger reigns,
Starvation gnaws, its chilling pains.
A hollow stomach's bitter cry,
A torturous ache that won't deny.

Oh, starvation, cruel and unkind,
You strip away, leaving shattered mind.
Your grip is merciless, a deadly snare,
Destroying lives, beyond compare.

Skin taut and pale, bones begging within,
Eyes sunken deep, a hopeless grin.
Strength fades away, a flickering flame,
As starvation's shadow plays its game.

Oh, starvation, cruel and unkind,
You strip away, leaving shattered mind.
Your grip is merciless, a deadly snare,
Destroying lives, beyond compare.

Once laughter filled these ravaged streets,
But now only silence, defeat repeats.
Children lie starving, their futures bleak,
A tragedy that words can't speak.

In distant lands, hunger knows no end,
Children starve as famines descend.
War and conflict wreak havoc and pain,
Leaving millions starving, again and again.

Oh, starvation, cruel and unkind,
You strip away, leaving shattered mind.
Your grip is merciless, a deadly snare,
Destroying lives, beyond compare.

Let us not turn a blind eye,
To the suffering that starvation implies.
Let compassion guide our helping hands,
To feed the hungry, in distant lands.
Let's break the chains of this cruel blight,
And bring hope to those who fight.
