Social Inequality

A cycle of poems «Is This Your American Dream?»

In gilded towers, wealth untold
Where privilege reigns and hearts grow cold
A chasm deep, where lives divide
Social inequality, the cruelest tide

Oh, the rich and the poor, worlds apart
A tale of two cities, a broken heart
Injustice echoes through the land
As social inequality takes a stand

In squalid slums, where dreams lie dormant
Struggling spirits, forgotten and torn
Education denied, hope denied
A cycle of poverty, they can't abide

Oh, the rich and the poor, worlds apart
A tale of two cities, a broken heart
Injustice echoes through the land
As social inequality takes a stand

Health and safety, a luxury for some
While others suffer, left in the slum
Access to justice, a distant dream
As the wealthy wield power, supreme

Oh, the rich and the poor, worlds apart
A tale of two cities, a broken heart
Injustice echoes through the land
As social inequality takes a stand

Education, housing, healthcare denied
A system rigged, where justice is defied
The weight of poverty, crushing and dire
A society divided, consumed by fire

But hope persists, amidst the despair
A flicker of change, a glimmer of care
Voices rising, demanding a shift
A fight for justice, a fight for a rift

Oh, the rich and the poor, worlds apart
A tale of two cities, a broken heart
Injustice echoes through the land
As social inequality takes a stand

Together we stand, united and strong
Breaking down barriers, righting the wrong
A future where all have a fair start
Where justice prevails, and inequality is torn apart
