Poverty
In desolate streets, where shadows dance,
Poverty's grip, an unrelenting trance,
Families huddled, shattered dreams in sight,
Living on the edge, a constant fight.
Oh, the burden of poverty, so cruel and cold,
Stealing futures, making hearts grow old,
Hunger gnaws, hope dwindles to a flicker faint,
As the cycle repeats, a relentless taint.
Education, a luxury they cannot afford,
Ignorance thrives, limiting life's chord,
Sickness strikes, without means to tend,
Healthcare eludes, their spirits mend.
Oh, the burden of poverty, so cruel and cold,
Stealing futures, making hearts grow old,
Hunger gnaws, hope dwindles to a flicker faint,
As the cycle repeats, a relentless taint.
Jobs scarce, wages low, a cruel fate,
Exploitation's scourge, a bitter hate,
Dignity stripped, their voices drowned,
In a world of plenty, they're left to drown.
Children's laughter, a bittersweet sound,
As they play amidst the poverty profound,
Innocence lost, too soon they learn,
That privilege eludes, their fate to yearn.
Oh, the burden of poverty, so cruel and cold,
Stealing futures, making hearts grow old,
Hunger gnaws, hope dwindles to a flicker faint,
As the cycle repeats, a relentless taint.
Yet, amidst the darkness, a flicker of light,
Resilience unbroken, they rise from the night,
Seeking change, breaking poverty's chains,
Their voices united, reclaiming their lanes.
