Шаги откуда-то звучали,
Казалось, что издалека.
Он обернулся вдруг нечаянно,
Возле него было - она.

Шагов уж более не слышно,
Ведь, очевидно, что дошли,
Так непредвзято, тихо пришла,
Вокруг не видно было зги.

Лишь в темноте глаза сияли,
С издевкой или хитрецой,
Они напротив так стояли,
Забывши все слова...

Кругом - лишь звуки проникали,
Из-за стены или ковра,
Они о большем не мечтали,
Была история сполна.
