Arthrosis

A cycle of poems «Orthopedics»

Joints ache with pain, a constant ache
Arthrosis strikes, a cruel fate
Cartilage wears thin, a relentless foe
Immobility, a heavy blow

Arthrosis, arthrosis, a cruel disease
Stealing freedom, bringing pain with ease
Limbs grow stiff, movement becomes a task
Life's joys diminished, a somber mask

Hands once nimble, now they struggle to hold
Tasks of daily life, a story to be told
Knees that once soared, now groan with pain
Simple steps a challenge, an endless chain

Arthrosis, arthrosis, a cruel disease
Stealing freedom, bringing pain with ease
Limbs grow stiff, movement becomes a task
Life's joys diminished, a somber mask

Doctors offer solace, but hope is dim
Medications, therapies, they work on a whim
Palliation our only relief
As arthrosis relentlessly we grieve

Isolation creeps, as friends and family sway
Pain becomes our constant, day after day
Depression lingers, a heavy weight
As our bodies betray, sealing our fate

Arthrosis, arthrosis, a cruel disease
Stealing freedom, bringing pain with ease
Limbs grow stiff, movement becomes a task
Life's joys diminished, a somber mask

But amidst the darkness, a flicker remains
Resilience we summon, through endless pains
We find solace in laughter, in shared experiences
Together we face this battle, with unwavering resilience
