Scoliosis

A cycle of poems «Orthopedics»

In the shadows of my spine, a curve unfurls,
Scoliosis, a cruel twist, a silent world.
Asymmetry's grip tightens, bones take shape,
A symphony of pain, a life reshaped.

Oh, scoliosis, a burden I bear,
A crooked path, a constant despair.
It bends my body, it tests my will,
A constant companion, a relentless thrill.

Braces constrict, a suffocating embrace,
Metal bars embrace me, a prison's grace.
They dig into my flesh, a reminder of my plight,
A constant struggle, a lonely fight.

Surgeries loom, a daunting prospect's face,
Correct the curve, regain my space.
Risks and fears intertwine, a choice to make,
The weight of decisions, my heart aches.

Oh, scoliosis, a burden I bear,
A crooked path, a constant despair.
It bends my body, it tests my will,
A constant companion, a relentless thrill.

Through pain and doubt, a beacon shines,
A community of others, where strength aligns.
They share their stories, offer support,
Reminding me I'm not alone in the tort.

I embrace my curves, they are a part of me,
A unique tapestry that sets me free.
No longer ashamed, no longer in hiding,
I own my scoliosis, with pride abiding.

Oh, scoliosis, a burden I bear,
But it cannot define me, I no longer care.
I rise above the pain, I embrace my might,
A warrior's spirit, shining in the night.
