Legal ramification
Legal ramification refers to the law related consequences of an action.
For example, if a person shoplifts, the legal ramification could be that he/she is charged with theft. If the act is committed in multiple states in the United States, it becomes a federal offence and is dealt with as the same.
Ramification can also refer to a development or consequence growing out of and sometimes complicating a problem, plan, or statement, or a related or derived subject, problem, etc.
MSNBC legal analyst and former FBI general counsel Andrew Weissmann joined Jen Psaki Monday to discuss the legal ramifications of footage where former President Donald Trump held a gun on a campaign stop in South Carolina.
