Пастернак - Зимняя ночь - Перевод
------------
It swept across the earth, it swept
To every corner.
A candle burning on the desk,
A candle burning.
Like insects swarming to a flame
In midst of summer,
The snowflakes swamp the window frame
From in the suburb.
The glass pane, thoroughly blizzard swept,
Pointing and swirling.
A candle burning on the desk,
A candle burning.
How dimly lit the ceiling begs
The shadows casting.
Crossing of arms, crossing of legs,
And fates contrasting.
Then fell onto the floor and knocked
Two wooden slippers.
The candle's wax upon the frock,
With tears, was dripping.
And all was lost within the mist
Of grey-white churning.
A candle burning on the desk,
A candle burning.
A sideway gust aroused the flame,
Tempting and so warm.
Two wings, as on an Angel, came
Reared in cruciform.
For all of February it swept,
Gone then returning
A candle burning on the desk,
A candle burning.
