CatAndMan Wellerman

(Wellerman Song by Nathan Evans)

There once was a cat who meowed at sea
Who Meowed at you and who Meowed at me
Meowed climbing masts, Meowed coming down
Oh purr my kitty cat purr (huh!)

          ( * refrain * )
Midnight - the Cat will come
To drag a plastic bag around
   Pounce sailors, topple our rum
We pick out boots and throw

We haven't been two weeks from shore
The cat had strolled through the Sick Bay door
And then curled-up, began to purr
Healed everybody in  (huh!)

   ( * refrain * )

Once slipped the cat into the water
The tail of whale came up and caught her
All hands to the side, reached out and brought her
Brought the kitty-cat in  (huh!)

   ( * refrain * )

No cord was chewed, and not a couch
That ended up a little scratched
Still cat belonged to Feline Creed
PUSSed everybody's Boots (in!)

   ( * refrain * )

For forty days or even more
The kitty ate then napped, then purred
Some toys were lost, dead mice were four
Dropped into beds and cots (huh!)

   ( * refrain * )

As far as I've heard, the naps go on
The stocks of Litter almost gone
The Wellerman makes his regular call
To discourage the use of Amazon (huh!)

   ( * refrain * )
