My verse for you
My verse does not shine with novelty,
It lacks graceful and subtle variations.
Should I look for nice availability,
New tricks and strange combinations?
I'm not going to rush and I choose every word,
Sometimes I replace it ten and a hundred times,
To show that you are the best in the whole world
And that we are two intersecting lines.
I repeat the same thing again and again
I don't get tired and I can't tell myself to stop
My honey, I have one insoluble problem
I'm afraid to lose you and drop.
For as the sun is daily new and old,
So is my love still telling what is told.*
* The last two lines from William Shakespeare's Sonnet 76. Why is my verse so barren of new pride?
