just right
They never invest in tables or chairs.
Another one: porridge is not a staple
That bears routinely put on the table.
(A figure of speech – I’ve pointed out
That tables are nothing to bears). I doubt
A bear would enjoy the texture or sight
Of porridge that even a human might
Have second thoughts about when faced
With more appealing choices of taste.
A house in the woods is another quaint
And baffling idea that fails to paint
An accurate picture of real estate
That suits a bear because to date
It’s been a question of sleeping rough
(A bear’s existence is truly tough)
Or making dens out of branches and logs.
And as for a kid named Goldilocks,
I can’t imagine a name like that
Not making the kid an exceptional brat.
And here’s a thought I’ll intrigue you with:
This Goldilocks is a total myth.
You cubs are lucky that I’m your Dad:
All fairy tales are extremely bad:
Too dull, too fanciful, too long.
I give you facts. They are never wrong.
They’ll make a bear’s future bright
And (at the risk of sounding trite)
Just right.
