For the greater good

You're telling her 'it's not too hard',
You know with what you fill her heart.
She did believe you all her life,
And dreamed about the happy times,
As postcards showed her brighter world
When no one meant to be alone,
When it was safe, no fields of stone,
When dear ones shouldn't have been gone.
So now her ache allowed you in,
Your words blocked everything within,
Deep faith of her clouded her mind,
In better future she will find.
With shining smile she raised her head,
Determined, strong, a little mad,
She hid her grief behind new goal,
That she'll reach for the sake of all.
For country, for the greater good,
She will do everything she should,
As you'll be watching her at this,
You two already found your peace.
And sacrifices you will make
Now wouldn't be too much at stake,
For giving others happiest life,
With no more losing, no more fright.
But anyway, behind the scene,
There's hiding shattered heroine,
Who lost her dear one, lost her home,
Who doesn't want to be alone
And walk through empty world of death,
Without a reason, so depressed,
Who dreamed of being something more,
The one, that saved world will adore.
The outside space broke down these dreams,
She was too young to go through this,
And you became her lifeline guide,
Replacing pain with hopes so bright.
You blinded her, but you were too,
That faith was growing into you,
With loneliness you can't escape,
You hid your feelings at this shape.
At this once, two of you're alike,
Wished others well, been traumatized,
Mistreated, lonely and betrayed,
You're not that far away from her,
The only person left to trust,
In her you found your light at last,
As she found it in you as well.
You two broke off protective shell,
Renewed the world with hands you stained,
The better days will come again.
