when time has passed and i grow big
I will equip the boat

i'll take a water stock with me
and some bread in the tote

Then from the pier with an oar
I will push off with neat

Float the boat! Farewell home!
so long before we meet

Green grove is the first to see
And then, beyond the grove

are coming places that before
i ve never seen at all

Small towns, villages and plains
blooms on the mount ridge

hills, railways, run-up trains
On strong and solid bridge

And people shouting to me
"hi captain" and "good luck"

and night is brightened up for me
by blinking old seamark

Когда я вырасту большой,
я снаряжу челнок

Возьму с собой бутыль с водой
И сухарей мешок.

Потом от пристани веслом
Я ловко оттолкнусь,

Плыви челнок! Прощай, мой дом!
Не скоро я вернусь.

Сначала лес увижу я,
А там, за лесом тем,

Пойдут места, которых я
И не видал совсем.

Деревни, рощи, города,
Цветущие сады,

Взбегающие поезда
На крепкие мосты.

И люди станут мне кричать:
«Счастливый путь, моряк!»

И ночь мне будет освещать
Мигающий маяк.
