Have you noticed a strange evolution
of new rules that are creeping today?
Darkness closes in. Persecution
for Christ’s message is not far away.

Have you noticed that Biblical teaching
for some folks is today an offence?
And the outcome could be far-reaching,
even though it makes no sense.

When street preachers are threatened by prison,
by authorities’ policies barred,
preaching Christ crucified and risen
is becoming increasingly hard.

Why to harass by threatening those,
who desire to make all awake,
who no danger for citizens pose,
honest people, who laws don’t brake?

It’s designed reputation to smear,
so that Christians couldn’t rejoice.
Satan ventures, imposing fear,
to discourage, to stifle God’s voice.

But the Lord says “Do not be afraid!”
as throughout the Scripture we see,
and we shouldn’t be scared and swayed,
for His love makes us bold and free.

For if Jesus is our reason,
serving Him, as we can, to exist,
no threats, no lies, no prison
couldn't stop our zeal to persist.

For believers, whose hearts are aflame,
it’s the future with Jesus at stake.
With all efforts to tame or defame
who is able God’s Spirit to brake?

Preaching Christ may appear unwise,
should one fear when labelled as odd?
Jesus promised a heavenly prize -
blissful life eternal with God!
