Godly woman

I am a woman, God’s creation,
In this I find celebration
that God for me devised a plan.
I don’t want to be a man!

To be a daughter and a mother -
to be a sister to my brother,
it’s my identity, my core,
and so much more, oh, so much more…

To nurture children is my role,
it is imprinted in my soul,
to love them dearly, to guide
by leaving selfishness aside.

Each woman should provide care -
to cook, to clean, and things to share.
The Lord a task for me assigned -
to be to others always kind.

The plan of God, the best I can
to be a helper to a man,
and yet, to be myself, unique,
and truth without fear to speak.

And on the top of any duty,
a woman must be full of beauty -
with inner qualities to shine,
according to the Lord’s design.

To be like Sarah or like Esther,
in God’s arrangements investing
my deeds, my feelings and my thoughts,
connecting those missing dots.

To strive for virtues like Mary:
though life might appear scary,
rejecting doubts, God to trust,
in every circumstance I must.

To be hospitable to strangers
sometimes can be full of dangers,
but when I look with retrospection,
the Lord assured my protection.

Alas, how often it’s not easy
to work for God and to be busy,
not following the worldly fashion,
to show to the weak compassion,

to show mercy, patience, grace
to them, who struggle, to embrace,
but Jesus Christ gives strength to me,
when Satan tempts, to God to flee.

In Christ I trust, His purpose, and
for me He plans a happy end,
I trust His promises and pray,
that I will see His face one day.
