To My Daughter Sofia

Once upon a summer day,
On June eighteenth to be exact.
The day was windy, sky was gray
When I became my daughter’s dad.

That morning, at ten after nine,
It was like music to my ears
When room filled up with cries of life,
My eyes filled up with joyful tears.

My little girl, please have no fear,
I’m here for you, I’ll hold your hand
Through tears of joy and painful tears,
And by your side I’d always stand.
