Sufi parable. Friendship with a Bear
A man and a bear, their friendship was seen.
A bond that was strong, a love that was pure,
Two unlikely friends, together they'd endure.
The man, he would hunt and the bear, he would roam,
Together they'd share all their tales and their home.
For food and for shelter, they'd often team up,
With hearts full of joy, they'd never give up.
One day, a hunter came to the woods,
His aim was to kill and his target was good.
He aimed at the bear, and the man, he stood still,
His love for his friend, he refused to spill.
The hunter was taken aback by this sight,
A man and a bear, in friendship so bright.
He asked of the man, what is it that you see,
The man replied, "A friend who is wild and free."
The hunter was moved by the man's simple reply,
And left the woods, with a changed heart and mind.
He saw in the man, a love so divine,
A love that was pure and that would forever shine.
So, let this tale be a lesson to all,
That friendship and love, is the greatest of all.
For in the embrace of a friend, we find peace,
And in their love, we find happiness and release.
