Aesops fable. Town Mouse the Country Mouse
Two mice, lived with a smile on their face
One lived in town, among the noise and haste
The other in the countryside, where peace and calm were cast.
The town mouse, was always on the run
With cheese and bread, he had much fun
He ate the finest foods, and drank the finest wine
And lived life, in luxury all the time.
The country mouse, was content and still
With simple meals, from the field and mill
He lived a life, that was slow and kind
And was always, in peace with his mind.
One day the town mouse, visited the country kin
And shared his tales, of the foods he'd been
The country mouse, was in for a surprise
And decided, to see what the town life was like.
At the town mouse's home, a feast was laid
With meats and cheeses, that had never been seen
The country mouse, was in awe and delight
And ate and drank, with all his might.
But suddenly, the door burst open wide
And the cat came in, with claws outstretched and stride
The mice ran, and hid with all their might
And the country mouse, thought of his peaceful night.
He raced back home, to the countryside
And never looked back, at the town's bright side
For he learned a lesson, that's wise to tell
That simple things, bring peace, and all is well.
