Aesops fable. Belling the Cat
Once upon a time, in a mouse's town
Lived mice, who scampered up and down
But a cat, with sharp claws and a cunning smile
Had made their lives, a constant trial.
The mice would hide, and tremble with fear
For the cat, was always so very near
They held a meeting, to find a plan
To save themselves, from the cat's strong hand.
One mouse stood up, and had an idea
"We'll put a bell, around the cat's neck, my dear
And when he comes, we'll hear the chime
And scurry away, in good time."
All mice agreed, it was a grand plan
But there was one, who took a stand
"Who will tie the bell, around the cat's neck?"
And all the mice, became very quiet, in a spec.
For they all knew, the cat was sly
And if they tried, they'd likely die
No mouse would volunteer, to take the risk
And so the plan, was dismissed.
And so the mice, continued to flee
From the cat's sharp claws, and wicked glee
For they learned a lesson, in that mouse's town
That it's easy to talk, but hard to follow through with the plan found.
