Psalm 6

Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger,
Or discipline me in your wrath,
Have mercy on me, O my soul,
For I am weak, and near my path.

Be gracious to me, Lord, and heal me,
For I have sinned against your name,
Save me from the depths of Sheol,
And lift me up from the pit of shame.

For your steadfast love is good, O Lord,
According to your abundant mercy,
Wash me and cleanse me from my sin,
And restore my soul and make me free.

For in death, no one remembers you,
And in Sheol, who will give you praise?
I am weary with my sighing,
And every night I soak my bed with tears.

So Lord, hear my voice when I call,
And be gracious to me and answer me,
For I am troubled, and in distress,
And need your comfort, so set me free.

Lord my God, in you I take refuge,
Save me from all who pursue me,
Lest they tear me apart like a lion,
And rip me to pieces, so savagely.

For you, O Lord, are my defense,
And the lifter of my head on high,
I cry out to you day and night,
And find my salvation in your eye.

Judge me, O Lord, and vindicate me,
For I walk in integrity and truth,
And I trust in the Lord with all my heart,
And rely on his goodness, from my youth.

The wicked are like the tumultuous sea,
That cannot be still or find peace,
But you, O Lord, bring forth justice,
And bring the wicked to their release.

So I will give thanks to you, O Lord,
With all my heart, and sing your praise,
For you have delivered me from harm,
And have saved me from all my ways.
