The Winter Road

The winter road, a pathway through the snow,
A lonely trail that winds its way ahead,
Where frosted trees stand tall and still, aglow,
With all the beauty of a winter's bed.

And though the winds may howl, and though the cold
May cause my heart to ache with every beat,
I tread this road with love, and cannot hold
Back all the longing that I feel so sweet.

For you, my love, are at the end of it,
A beacon shining bright in darkest night,
A source of warmth, a flame that will not quit,
A love that brings my heart to life with light.

And though the road may be a winding one,
I follow it, for you are my heart's sun.
