Psalm 3

Lord, how many are my foes,
How many rise against me now,
So many seek to overthrow,
My peace and joy and every vow.

But you, O Lord, are my defense,
My shield and strong support in need,
I lift my head and look to you,
And find my help in you indeed.

I cry out to the Lord for help,
And from his holy hill, he hears,
He saves me from the deadly snare,
And lifts me from the trials and tears.

You, Lord, are my glory, my shield,
You lift my head and make me great,
I will call upon you day and night,
And find my strength and peace in you, my fate.

So I will lie down and sleep in peace,
For you alone, O Lord, make me safe,
And I will rise up and sing your praise,
For you, O Lord, are my refuge, my saving grace.
