The Snowflake

When old year leaves – having played its part -
And New Year travels near,
You hide that snowflake in your palm
And think of a wish that’s dear;

You hope and gaze at the dark-blue night,
Dream bold and just ask away,
Don’t squeeze that snowflake stuffy-tight,
Just wish and your dreams await…

The New Year flies, it’s coming and you felt it,
Your dreams come true by magic spells
If only the snowflake hasn’t melted,
If in your palm it hasn’t melted
Before the clock has stricken twelve…

When old year fades - having played its part -
And New Year smiles bright,
All dreams come true, so wish of stars –
It’s simply a magic night!

The world is frozen, the world is calm,
Awaiting the days ahead
But look: that snowflake in your palm
Now a phoenix of fiery red!
