«Инші»
Ми ще дихали на повні груди, бо живі
І в серці є любов... бо люди, люди...
А люди думали, що нас не існувало взагалі,
Що чорний драп на лобі наша юність не носила.
Не випало нам іншого життя, а лише те,
Що в лиха час йшло далі, і від втрат...
Не голосило.
Бо прийшли Інші, вимовив, — то все моє! —
А тут біда, ми ще живі, хоч і приречені на страту,
І тими, хто зрадив нас усіх, ще вчора, —
Під час, коли прийшла вечірня зоря,
І тими, хто відспівував
Коли світанку зайнялась зоря,
Все знаючи… І це не випадково…
Біжить час, да все крізь пальці,
З кожним кроком — швидше, швидше...
Ми ще люди в цьому світі...
Але, далі... Час минає,
Богу - богово,
А Іншим - інше.
У мертвих і живих не запитавши дозвіл…
Такі часи! — Де правда, де брехня? —
Так брешуть, ніби правду кажуть,
Без бога в серці, і без каяття…
Які часи настали скрізь, таке й життя.
Бо Інших світ настав, та Інших скрізь буття.
Мій друже, але ти тримайся,
Ось, дивись, як ми високо летимо,
Бо страху вже немає в нас,
І у запасі є свідоме почуття. -
Останнє маємо, це, невигадане ані ким життя.
Та знаєм, — світ «Іних» без каяття,
Бо різні ті світи… І це не випадково…
Біжить час, да все крізь пальці,
З кожним кроком — швидше, швидше...
Ми ще люди в цьому світі...
Але, далі... Час минає,
Богу - богово,
А Іншим - інше.

it's a very wise move these days to give this Ukrainian poem an English title. Though I would put the definite article before the word others. Just a remark, not a necessity.

Yes, the definite article is appropriate here.
Perhaps you are right. Every person wants peace and a normal life for himself and his family. People of any country, regardless of nationality and place of birth, should not suffer from politicians who turn the whole country into the territory of "ward number six" and even more so try to involve the rest of the world in this.

Oh it's not just a ward, it's a complete madhouse when the one who rules a country turns out to be a psychopath. And I seem to know one country like that. You know it, too.
There is a consequence to every action, that's true. And there always is someone who pays. Sometimes it's an entire people. One evil and destructive leader can take his people straight to a dead end or to the edge of an abyss. This time as anyone can guess it's the edge of an abyss. Well, if it means the end of those who have worshiped their evil and destructive leader for such a long time, who should care? History repeats itself.
I know it wasn't your coutry that began it all. So that is the only thing that matters now. Your country deserves a future and it should be good and more peaceful than ever. There's hardly any need for paying attention to the fate of those who have worshiped their evil and destructive leader. They will get what they deserve. Unfortunately, the same fate will befall those who, living in that country, have always hated thier evil and destructive leader, but... there's nothing to do about it... Fate will decide the outcome. And the outcome can be easily predicted.
God's blessings to you and your country, Ukrainian man. My godmother was Ukrainian, too.
