Bluebeard s bride
In a mist of despair & trust.
You do not have to follow -
We are parting again & at last.
I am leaving to mountains dawn,
In the sorrow of my pain & my solitude.
Yesterday I was just a beautiful swan,
But I have lost every bit of my fortitude.
Don’t believe in the tails of freedom -
I will keep every glance of your gaze.
Nothing special about the fact that I’m beaten.
And I know you will eraze
Every memory of me & my smiling,
Of our laughing and reading Remark.
You so desperately wanted me crying,
And you have killed an embarrassed lark.
You are right, of course - so many years
Have been lost in my pointless tries.
But I can’t forget even your smears
Your velvety voice & your lies.
My heart was so hurt & so opened
And you used it to satisfy your man’s pride.
And you laughed when I was choking,
Having heard to be called Bluebeard’s bride.
