Divine

Road, leading to abyss, is broad,
when wrong thinking turns to a desire.
No sin can enter God’s abode.
No human can survive His fire.

Feeling in this life as a fraud,
I’m an imperfect human being.
How could I save myself? I’m flawed,
and the Lord all my mistakes is seeing.

Me, a finite creature, how could I
to approach the living God, so pure?
Yet, I’ll see the Lord and wouldn’t die,
as the scriptures tell and reassure.

Not for all my efforts, any deeds,
nor for my attempts, my life improving,
as the Lord Himself my soul leads,
guiding by advising or reproving.

By my strength I can’t be ever saved,
as God’s eyes all my actions screen,
but the blood of Jesus is engraved
in my DNA that makes me clean.

If I trust the Bible’s Holy Word,
God accepts me now as I am.
I am welcomed in His blissful world,
even though my works aren’t worth a damn.

Christ gives wisdom how to react
to offenses, teaches to forgive,
and with new insights to interact,
and in peace and love with others live.

Jesus Christ adopts me and compels
to repent before His Holy blood.
In my heart His Spirit now dwells,
making me divine in a bud.

The story of creation in Genesis 1 declares that human beings were made in the image of God. I understand this as people having traits of divinity in them, that man and God in their essential moral attributes had the same nature. Alas, because of sin, Adam and Eve lost not only their place in the Paradise but also their ability to remain holy and we see it nowadays how low the humanity fell since then.
God at last disclosed Himself in one pure, sinless man Jesus Christ in order that through that humanity might know who and what God is.
True Christians, who have repented of their sins, receive the Holy Spirit and therefore we become partakers of His divine nature, inheriting all that Christ inherited from His Father.
