Mortimer's speech to himself upon waking up in the morning: "Now, see here! This is not MY face. This has nothing to do with me. It is a worn out, tired, contorted by never going away dissatisfaction with whoever this one's might be life  sallow visage. It's the face of a man who never laughs.
Just as I said I don't own it. Mine is that of a boy who is always laughing because the sun is tickling his sun-beam dependent happiness cells, of the one who is at peace with himself and the world...  No hostility between me and the world - just joy and kindness and sunshine!
Whoever stole my real face, you will never achieve your goal - to make me understand that everything is a failure. Because It is NOT.
And, whoever the thief might be, just  give back what is not yours. And make sure you do it quick enough, because I am going to have a nice day today. As usual, mind you, as usual..."
