Out of here

'Out of here' yet too accustomed
To technologies covering each step,
Spending long nights out,
Slow calculation,
Horribly bright clothes,
Credulous crowds,
Reading between the lines,
Listening for gist,
Dancing the head off at parties,
Playing the hang drums,
Falling asleep to exotic music,
Waking up at night with abrupt heartache
And writing extensive letters

To people who are distant from these
Credulous crowds.

Sharing a common passion for science
But living
In complicated cages mostly made of illusions and words.

Or standing up
For people they barely knew -
Together, in different countries,
Against ignorance.
