The Phantom

I saw you under silver moon.
A look so sweet, yet vicious,
If I had known it spelt my doom,
Known love was so capricious...

I longed for your stunning smile,
For laughter so rich and fresh.
I didn’t think I’d feel so fragile,
A stiletto against my flesh...

I looked in your amber eyes,
I walked in the luscious orchard.
If I knew the awaiting price,
If I knew the awaiting torture...

I wanted a lifetime to taste
The sweetness of your soft lips,
But your gentle hand placed
A stiletto between my ribs.

Perhaps it was just a dream,
Perhaps it is just a nightmare.
I want to wake up with a scream,
I want you to answer my prayer.

I wished you forever to hold,
For us never to be apart,
Instead what I felt was a jolt:
A stiletto has pierced my heart.

You are like the dagger you hold:
The dangerous silvered steel,
The aim is true, the edge is honed.
But was your love ever real?

***

I fell in love with a phantom...
Maybe Kren herself made her.
She held my spirit for ransom.
I was killed by the Silver Stiletto...

I was killed by the Silver Stiletto...
